1 Minute Balance Exercise

Preventing falls is all about balance, and this move helps build balance.

To do it:

  • Stand a little less than shoulder width apart.
  • Raise your knee up to your comfortability point and then count to 10.
  • Move to the other knee.
  • Your goal is to reach 30 seconds on each side. You can start with 10 seconds and add 5 seconds per day or as you think you're getting stronger.
  • You can do this exercise whenever: while making coffee at home, standing at the line at the grocery store, etc.
